Remember New Edition? That is some excellent 1980s R&B. Instead of some sick dance moves, we have a new ADdition.
Meet our foster puppy. Her shelter name is “Princess,” but we’re not very royal people, so we’ve taken to calling her Shiva.

She’s currently on a court hold for adoption pending a court case against her owners. According to the Humane Society, she’s about 7 months old and mostly pit bull mixed with who knows what. She’s been at the shelter since August, so she must have been a wee little thing then!

How cute are they? Both begging for pizza.
Right now, we’re just seeing how she and Boof get along. They play a lot. They seem to get along well. Shiva is very like Boof in a lot of regards – she doesn’t bark, she likes to cuddle, and she likes to sleep (a lot!).
We’re also trying to evaluate if she’s a good fit for our life. It’s sort of stressful for Jason and I. We want to make sure Boof is happy. We want to make sure that we’re both happy, and we’re hopeful that it works out for her to be happy and in a better situation in our home. It just makes sense that Boof would be happier with a playmate.
It’s amazing, though, how the dynamics have changed! I admit to being just the littlest bit jealous. I’m not Boof’s favorite any longer. He follows her around the house instead of me. It’s nice that he still comes to cuddle and lay in my lap when he’s sleepy, but it’s an interesting transition. Jason admits to it feeling a bit weird, too. It’s an adjustment, for sure.
According to the Humane Society, a decision should be made by the courts in the next couple of weeks. Until then, we’re testing the waters…and cleaning twice the number of muddy paw prints!
